Montreal, November 10, 2010 - On 2 December, some 200 art lovers will gather at the gallery from CDEx for the second edition of the auction of the Master in Visual and Media Arts at UQAM. During this colorful evening, a hundred works will be auctioned, most performed by emerging artists, others by their teachers, including Michael Blum, Mario Côté, Jean Dubois, Francois Lacasse Ramsden, Monique Régimbald-Zeiber, Stephen Schofield and David Thomas.
A catalog is available on the Web can view the works in advance. On 2 December, for one day only, the public can visit the exhibition and start to put in the form of a silent auction. A lively reception, the artists, will open at 18 pm 30 and culminate in auction auctions. A purchase order form is available on request for buyers unable to attend.
The event aims to raise funds for Broadcast Centre and the control experiment (CDEX), in addition to providing income support to students. In the first edition, 45 works were sold, and raised over $ 4000 for the activities of control and more than $ 6,000 of income for students. Funds raised have helped provide the CDEx, the electronic journal Item and Forum search-creating dynamic websites which they were badly needed. This year the money raised will be used to modernize infrastructure CDEx to make it more versatile venue for artists to exhibit and more visible in the Montreal arts community.
